Prominence Bio Inert/ Modular HPLC System

A new inert Bio Inert/Modular LC liquid chromatography system is now part of the Prominence and Nexera series.
Prominence/Nexera Bio Inert/Modular HPLC system offers the same superior reliability, robustness and expandability as ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) and is used for the analysis of protein-based pharmaceuticals, antibody drugs and other substances developed or produced using biotechnologies such as genetic engineering and cell fusion. particularly suitable.

Bio Inert/Modular HPLC Features

Low Carryover

In addition to the familiar low contamination transport design of Shimadzu autosamplers, Nexera Bio includes specially selected materials and a rinsing mechanism that prevents contamination from biological samples. This results in peaks with excellent reproducibility and excellent data reliability, even for samples with contamination that previously prevented accurate quantification.

Blocked Sample Losses for the Whole System (Adsorption)

Flow lines are designed to be chemically inert, allowing analysis of biological samples that are readily absorbed into materials such as stainless steel tubing. As a result, the system can detect peaks that could not be detected before with sufficient sensitivity.

Improved Corrosion Resistance

All materials that come into contact with solutions are coated or a pump is automatically rinsed to withstand analysis using mobile phases with high salt concentrations or halogen elements. The result is reliable, robust operation even when analytical conditions are used that would prevent long-term reliability in conventional systems due to salt precipitation or corrosion.

Stable Data with Bio Inert/Modular HPLC

Prominence inert LC (liquid chromatography) system uses non-metallic materials such as PEEK resin in the liquid contact parts for the mobile phase and sample solution. It not only enables the use of highly concentrated salts and acids in the mobile phase, but also suppresses the adsorption of samples with high affinity to metals.
The newly designed LC-20Ai solvent distribution unit offers highly reproducible analysis thanks to its highly sensitive liquid distribution feature.

Analysis of Monoclonal Antibody Aggregates

Normally, it is difficult to achieve stable results with HPLC for the aggregate analysis of antibody drugs because of the high concentrations of salt, such as sodium chloride, used in the mobile phase. In contract, with its metal-free design, the Prominence inert system enables stable aggregate analysis.

Ideal Consumables for Analysis of Biopharmaceuticals

The accelerated pace of development of biopharmaceuticals and drugs based on medium-sized molecules such as peptide drugs and antisense oligonucleotides has spurred the need for more accurate analytical and evaluation technology for use in the procurement and development of higher quality pharmaceuticals.
Shim-pack Bio Diol and IEX columns offer performance that can help improve the accuracy of analysis and evaluation of mid-molecule-based biopharmaceuticals and drugs.

Excellent Repeatability

The figure below shows a comparison of the peak area values obtained from 10 sequential analysis of an ATP standard solution (1 mg/L) using Nexera Bio and a general purpose UHPLC system.

Nexera Bio and Prominence Inert liquid chromatography systems provide much higher sensitivity and better repeatability than the general purpose UHPLC system, by significantly reducing adsorption to metal surfaces in sample flow lines.
