TSX Ultra-Low Freezers

Our TSX ultra-low freezers (ULT) provide prime protection of your most precious samples, even in the most taxing conditions. They meet the highest sustainability, temperature management and reliability standards for -80°, -70°, and -60°C storage.
Powered by V-drive adaptive control technology, these state-of-the-art, upright freezers provide energy savings of up to 70% without compromising sample protection. They're quiet and enable lower HVAC costs with very low heat ouput.

ENERGY STAR® certified Thermo Scientific™ TSX Series Ultra-Low freezers are designed to meet the highest standards in reliability, sustainability and temperature management.

All TSX Series freezers are manufactured in a zero-waste facility and are built with natural refrigerants and water-blown foam insulation, compliant with the US EPA's Important New Alternatives Policy (SNAP), the European Union's F-Gas compliance, and other sustainability standards.

Available in four sizes, the smallest unit, the TSX40086 freezer shown here, can hold up to 400 boxes in a 7.42 sq. ft. footprint, while the largest unit, the TSX70086 freezer, can hold up to 700 boxes in an 11.86 sq. ft. footprint.

Adaptive Cooling Control / What is  V-Drive Technology?

The V-drive technology found in TSX Series freezers is designed to detect situations such as multiple door openings and adjust to a higher compressor speed as needed.

V-drive technology operates at variable speeds to adjust cooling performance to conditions inside and outside the freezer. When conditions are stable, the V-drive controls the system at low speed, helping to reduce energy consumption while maintaining a constant temperature for sample preservation. If the freezer is opened frequently or samples are added to the freezer, the system detects the activity and increases the driving speed.
