High-Throughput Fluorescence Imaging and Analysis of Spheroids

Introduction As cells do not grow in isolation, traditional two-dimensional (2D) cell culture monolayer models lack physiologically relevant environmental conditions and can have drastic differences in terms of their physical and biochemical features, compared to intact biological systems. Since more physiologically relevant animal studies are time consuming and expensive, there is a need for experimental models that span the gap between in vitro cell-based assays and in vivo animal studies.
